Allison Brooks Janney, an American actress was born in the year 1959. Her work on the screen as well as stage have been praised over the course of her three-decade-long career. Janney was honored with many prizes, including The Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. The seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also awarded to Janney. She was also selected for two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised to Dayton (Ohio). She was awarded a scholarship to pursue a degree at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after she graduated from Kenyon College. Janney debuted on television on television in the year 1999. She played C. J. Cregg on NBC's political show The West Wing from 1999-2006, where she received the award for four Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was awarded her Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest actor in the Drama Series for her performance in the role of Margaret Scully on the Showtime series Masters of Sex. Janney was nominated six times for Primetime Emmy Awards and twice was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actress Comedy Series.
